1. Participation
1.1Participation is possible by anyone from the age of 18.
1.2The maximum number of participants 700. Admission takes place in the order of registration. After 700 registrations, a team is placed on the reserve list, after which it is checked whether there is still sufficient capacity for these teams.
1.3Registration takes place on the website www.ringvaartregatta.nl. from March 2, 2021 12:00 p.m. to April 2, 2021 12:00 p.m. and alterations of the registration will be accepted until May 2, 2021. For international teams, a requested registration form has to be completed. Participation is only possible after payment of the full registration fee.
1.4Refund of the registration fee is not possible. The organization can make exceptions in the event of force majeure.
1.5The following gender classes are determined:
 – Men.
– Women
– Mixed. The team consists of as many men as women whereat the coxswain is not included.
– Free composition (for certain types of boats). The team consists of a random combination of men and women.
– If the team consists of fewer than 50% women and there is no free composition for the number that starts, the team will participate in the men’s ranking.
1.6Each team must start in the boat type in which they are registered.
1.7By participating in the Ringvaart Regatta, you agree that data is shared with the KNRB (Royal Dutch Rowing Federation).
2. Boat
2.1The boat must be delivered on Monday May 31 or Tuesday 1 June 2021 according to a schedule made by the organization (in the case of the fallback date this will be Monday June 14 or 15 June 2021). Boats that are delivered later than Tuesday 1 June 18:00 p.m. (in the case of the reserve date 15 June) will be excluded from participation without a refund of the registration fee. If you are unable to meet this requirement, you are requested to contact the Ringvaart Regatta organization as soon as possible. The following additions apply:
 – If a boat needs to be rowed to the starting location and the weather forecast predicts that it will be unsafe to row on Tuesday June 1 (in case of the fallback date 15 June 2021), the organization has the right to let these teams deliver their boat at a different time than originally scheduled.
– The organization reserves the right to relocate boats on the starting site for the purpose of easing the starting procedure.
2.2A team must take care of a boat and accessories themselves. The organization is not responsible for damage caused during the regatta.
2.3The boat will be inspected before the start of the regatta. The organization reserves the right to exclude a boat if it does not meet the requirements.
2.4The boat must meet the requirements as specified in the KNRB rowing competition rules, article 17 up to and including article 21 (Dutch version can be found on https://knrb.nl/wp-content/uploads/sites/171/2019/12/2019-Reglement-voor-Roeiwedstrijden-cross-references-vastgesteld-AV-30.11.2019.pdf).
3. Regatta
3.1The team must have at least one person in charge who follows the team ashore. The telephone number of this person must be known to the organization of the Ringvaart Regatta.
3.2In the case of withdrawal from the Ringvaart Regatta, the responsible party must inform the Ringvaart Regatta management. Teams still have to take responsibility for the equipment.
3.3During the competition the bow rower wears clothing with a signaling color (for example a fluorescent yellow shirt).
3.4The boats get an individual start time. The times will be announced on the website on 19 May 2021.
3.5Teams report timely before the specified start time (as communicated by the organization) for the start procedure. Arriving late at the start will be fined (€ 20 for skiff, twos and fours and € 50 for eights) and may result in exclusion.
3.6The instructions of volunteers on the side overrule the rules above at all times. The instructions of volunteers must be followed at all times.
3.7If you are still rowing after sunset (9:55 p.m.), you should wear a white all-around shining light. Boats that row unlit after 9:55 p.m. will be disqualified. Any fines are for your own account.
3.8The start will take place on Wednesday 2 June 2021 from 6:00 a.m. according to the timetable that will be published on the site under the heading ‘Field layout’.
3.9An ascended team may not hinder the ascending team and must give way in time so that the ascending team is free to choose its course. Safety and sportiness must be decisive for both the ascended and the ascending team in the way they treat each other.
3.10All boats must finish be before 00:00 a.m. on the night of 2 to 3 June 2021.
3.11The organization reserves the right to exclude a team if, in the eyes of the organization, will not reach the end time. This applies if the team reached stop C4 (Café Ut Dobbertje) after 6:30 p.m. Teams must then stop and moor the boat at A.L.S.R.V. Asopos de Vliet.
3.12If follow-up teams do not adhere to the traffic rules and / or instructions of the organization and relevant authorities and thereby endanger the continuity of the event, the organization may decide to give the participating team a time penalty or disqualification and withdrawal from the regatta.
4. Route
4.1The route has various obstacles such as low and / or narrow bridges and a lock. The bridge heights and widths can be found in the regatta magazines which can be found on the site under the heading regatta. Coxswains must know these heights and widths and know whether their team can sail underneath without bending over.
4.2Along the route several rest area’s will be realized. At each stop a maximum docking time of 45 minutes is allowed. As this is completely voluntary, the docking time will count for the final finish time.
5. Finish area
5.1It is not allowed to bring your own alcoholic drinks and drinks that are in a glass or bottle of glass to the finish area.
5.2It is not allowed to spread confetti on the finish area. Cleaning costs can be charged.
5.3Boats must be deconstructed in the designated athletes area, unless otherwise indicated by the organization.
5.4Only participants and the designated team coach are allowed in the athletes area.
6. Rankings
6.1RINGVAART REGATTA
6.1.1There are two winners among all participating boats: a fastest women’s team and a fastest men’s team.
6.1.2The winner is the team that achieves the highest percentage of the Ringvaart record for the boat type rowed. The records can be found on the website (https://ringvaartregatta.nl/index.php/en/regatta/sprints/).
6.2SPRINTS
6.2.1Everyone for whom participation is possible will automatically participate in the Sprintbokaal as soon as the registration for the Ringvaart Regatta is completed.
6.2.2Participation is only possible for participants of the Ringvaart Regatta in the numbers as communicated on the website (https://ringvaartregatta.nl/index.php/en/regatta/sprints/).
6.2.3There are no additional costs associated with participation.
6.2.4The organization reserves the right to cancel the sprints in its entirety.
6.2.5The Sprintbokaal runs the last part of the route of the Ringvaart Regatta, over a distance of approximately 600 meters. The finish of the sprint bowl coincides with the finish of the Ringvaart Regatta. The exact route can be found on the website. (https://ringvaartregatta.nl/index.php/en/regatta/sprints/).
6.2.6The buoys placed along the route serve as an indication of the start of the Sprints
6.2.7There are two winners over all participants: a fastest women’s team and a fastest men’s team.
6.2.8The winner is the team that achieves the highest “Golden Standard”. The “Golden Standard” used for the relevant boat type can be found on the website. (https://ringvaartregatta.nl/index.php/en/regatta/sprints/).
7. CancelLation
7.1If the regatta cannot take place due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, this will be communicated to all participants at 09:00 on Tuesday 1 June 2021 at the latest. The regatta will then take place on 16 June 2021.
7.2If, due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, the regatta also cannot take place on 16 June 2021, it may be decided by the board of D.S.R.V. “Laga” that a percentage (to be determined) of the rowing fees to the participating teams will be refunded.
7.3If the competition cannot take place on 16 June 2021 due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, the event will be cancelled on Tuesday 15 June at 09:00.
7.4By offering a reserve date, a refund of the registration fee is not possible if the regatta is cancelled on 2 June 2021.
8. TeAM
8.1According to KNRB House Rules Article 52, a medical examination is urgently advised when participating in a rowing competition. Control of this rests with the rowing club to which the participant is affiliated. Participation is at your own risk. KNRB regulations apply.
8.2Participants are expected to know the regulations and to be informed of the current information on this website. The “Binnenvaart Politie Reglement” (English translation: Inland Navigation Police Regulations) are fully applicable and “good seamanship” is paramount.
8.3A team consists of a maximum of nine crew members for an 8, a maximum of five (without coxswain; four) crew members for a 4, a maximum of four (without coxswain; 3) crew members for a 3 and a maximum of three (without coxswain; two) crew members for a 2, a maximum of three crew members for a single wherry and a maximum of one crew member for a skiff.
8.4The crew members may not be changed during the regatta, except for a single and double wherry for which it is permitted to have the rower swapped with the coxswain.
8.5For all teams, the coxswain counts as a crew member.
